Times extract

Double page extracts from the book in today’s Times’ Review, with the picture of Nancy with the Durrell family at the centre. Of course, one hopes that will encourage people to race out and order shedloads of the book in time for publication day on February 9th. It has abbreviated extracts from the Corfu years, Anaïs Nin and Paris, and Nancy’s disastrous attempt to get away on her own for her one and only ski-ing holiday over Christmas 1937. The problem with reading abbreviated extracts (for this writer, anyway) is that it always makes me panic that the original had too many words in it …
