The Fowey Festival – the du Maurier Festival – was a real pleasure. It’s interesting for me to be in conversation with someone else – in this case the very competent and engaging Helen Taylor – because for once I don’t know what I’ll be talking about. One question she asked me – Was I like Nancy? – I found completely impossible to answer, but the struggle before I had to admit defeat was challenging.
And some old friends turned up, which of course is a joy. I’d been in Cornwall over the weekend and after all this gloom and rain, two perfect days emerged. Cornwall in May sunshine is as beautiful as anywhere on the planet – here are a couple of shots taken from the ferry that goes from the Roseland to just below Trelissick Gardens.
